Advance Ticket Sales Service

Opera House Box Office

There is a £10 charge for Entrants wanting to sell tickets through the Buxton Opera House Box Office. This is payable to Buxton Festival Fringe. Please add £10 per event using this service to your entry fee.

The Opera House has added online sales to the Advance Ticket Sales service for Entrants. A £1 per ticket charge is levied by the online sales provider used by the Opera House. Online tickets will therefore cost £1 more than face value. The customer does not however pay credit/debit card charges which are deducted from sales proceeds.

The Opera House will remit the full amount of ticket sales less card charges where they apply.

To use this service enter the required extra information on the entry form and tick the acceptance box. Please note the Opera House Advance Sales Service can only cater for one venue per event.

Conditions

Participants must deal with all matters relating to advance ticket sales through the Advance Sales Manager. Under NO circumstances should Fringe entrants attempt to deal directly with the Opera House Box Office - contravention of this simple rule may result in termination of your facility as the Opera House Box Office administration is fully extended during the Festival and cannot deal with individual Fringe entrants. The Advance Sales Manager will deal with any queries and/or problems on your behalf.

Information on the tickets sold will be available on the Fringe Desk during the Fringe and from the Advance Sales Manager before that.

All Advance Ticket Sales by the Opera House will cease at close of business on the day before the performance and information on the number of tickets sold by the Opera House will be available to entrants from the Fringe Desk/Advance Sales Manager during the next morning. Tickets sold but not collected will remain at the Opera House for collection by the customer. Entrants are responsible for checking the capacity of their venue against sales and avoiding overbooking.

The Opera House will print tickets for Advance Sales. Entrants do not need to supply tickets to the Opera House but they are, of course, responsible for producing their own tickets for sale on the door. NB The Opera House usually does not start selling tickets for the Fringe until early June at which point the Fringe website will display live links from each entry for online bookings in addition to showing the bookings telephone number which is also displayed in the printed Fringe programme.

Payment for all Advance Ticket sales will be made by the Opera House direct to entrants by cheque at the end of the Fringe. The entry form asks for your details to facilitate this. Once again, please note that Card payment charges will be deducted by the Opera House on sales as appropriate.

If a performance for which Advance Ticket Sales are offered is cancelled or altered the Advance Sales Manager and the Fringe Desk Manager must be informed immediately. Customers may be entitled to an automatic refund so the Fringe/Buxton Opera House reserves the right to deduct such refunds, recharges and fees from any amounts due to entrants and further to seek compensation from participants in respect of any financial loss arising from cancellation or alteration.

The Opera House ticket sales facility is targeted at small-scale performances. For events where the Opera House is required to sell 150 tickets or more per performance, a small extra fee will be levied in addition to the usual £10. Please contact the Fringe's Advance Sales Manager if your show requirements fall into this category.

In applying to use the Advance Ticket Sales Service entrants are agreeing to these conditions.
