Friends' Events

Fringe Friends have been working closely with the organisers of Buxton Film and are pleased to tell you that Fringe Friends will be entitled to the concessionary rate entry (£3) on the films put on by Buxton Film at the Railway Hotel during their April to June 2010 season.

Good new for film fans – in association with Buxton Film there will be a second Fringe Friends Film Evening this year on Wednesday 2nd June at the Railway Hotel featuring “The Devil's Backbone” a film from Guillermo Del Toro, the director of "Pan's Labyrinth". All Fringe Friends will receive free entry on this evening, and there'll also be a complimentary glass of wine or soft drink, so it would be lovely to see you all there. Fringe Friends would also like to announce reduced rate mid-season membership. Fees for the period up to next year’s Fringe are only £5 for single membership or £7.50 for joint membership. Well worth it for film-goers who will immediately start getting discounted entry to the film season.

If you would like to support the Fringe there is no better way than becoming a Friend. By becoming a Fringe Friend you will be making a valuable contribution to secure and maintain the Fringe, and showing your support for an event that enriches the cultural life of the town and makes a significant difference to the local economy.

We ask Friends to make a modest annual donation towards the costs of running the Fringe. There are two membership types Ewe can help too

£10 Individual Membership
£15 Joint Membership where two people live at the same address

Once you're one of our Friends you will receive 10% off admission into Fringe events (this does not apply to tickets that are already concessions). Please show your Friends card when picking up tickets. NB For events bookable through the Opera House (those marked with an asterix), there is no 10 per cent discount possible on tickets purchased through the Opera House's internet booking system but the discount IS available if you book on the telephone or in person and show your card when you collect your ticket.

Other benefits for Friends include early Fringe programmes, Friends' newsletters, free entry to the Fringe Club and an invitation to the Fringe awards ceremony.

For administrative purposes, annual Fringe Friend membership runs from June 1 so when the Fringe is over we offer half price membership of £5 (£7.50 for joint membership). Sign up now to support the Fringe and receive invitations to Friends events during the year.
