New-look Programme for Buxton Festival Fringe

Buxton Festival Fringe has just published its new-look, full-colour programme giving extensive what's on information about this year's action-packed event (July 8-24).

The popular annual Fringe offers a huge range of arts and entertainment running alongside the opera and literature-based Buxton Festival. Watch out this year for:

Fringe 2005 has had a massive 79 entrants and boasts an unrivalled selection of drama, music, exhibitions and so much more, from salsa to 'sexy science' and from Morris Dancing to magic shows.

With no selection or censorship, the Fringe has a very lively atmosphere. Says new chair, John Wilson: 'The Fringe is different every year and the same each year, in that every year you never know what's going to happen, and that's why it's so exciting!'

The Fringe is a separate organisation from the Festival and is run by volunteers. Since 2003 it has received generous sponsorship from the University of Derby College, Buxton. We are also supported by High Peak Borough Council and The Osborne Group and are grateful to many other organisations.

Full details are now available in the newly designed, free Fringe Programme, widely distributed in early June and in full colour thanks to the generosity of OBDesigns.

During the Fringe itself, the Fringe Information Desk is situated next to the Opera House in the front of the Pavilion Gardens Conservatory. It will be manned from 10am to 4pm between July 8-24 and during these dates there is a dedicated phone line for enquiries - 01298 214184. Outside these dates, the Fringe Secretary, Barbara Wilson, can be contacted on 01298 70562, or Send message to Info.
