Fringe Outreach to New Mills
A new arts venue in New Mills is keen to establish an outreach of the Fringe to New Mills.
The St James the Less, (any fans of Augustus Carp out there?), Church and Arts Centre, Spring Bank, New Mills is a small Victorian Church approaching deconsecration. It has a lovely acoustic, particularly suitable for small music events, but all forms would work.
The pews would seat 100 and the raised chancel makes a performance area of 6m x 6m with a step across the middle. Some spotlights illuminate the stage area but there is no specialist lighting or sound equipment on site. Tea making is possible.
The venue has its own programme and mailing list and will be keen to publicise the Fringe Outreach season.
Charges are negotiable.
This could be a low cost opportunity to extend your audience while in Buxton and the Fringe hopes entrants will avail themselves of this new opportunity.
