BUXTON FESTIVAL FRINGE - THE BIGGEST EVER!

PRESS RELEASE: For immediate release May/June 2006

This year's Fringe (July 7-23) is the biggest ever with 114 entries having signed up for the 2006 programme. That means over 460 performances representing a wide diversity of the arts from drama to comedy, music to dance and visual arts to spoken word. The printed programme will be available from early June but you can see what is going on right now by logging on to http://www.buxtonfringe.org.uk for full listings. Watch out this year for:

A registered charity, the Buxton Festival Fringe runs concurrently with the opera and literature based Buxton Festival but is a separate organisation run by volunteers. Since 2003 it has received generous sponsorship from the University of Derby, Buxton. It is also supported by The Osborne Group and is grateful to many other organisations. However, after 20 years of financial support, High Peak Borough Council has this year cut all of its funding to us so we are now actively looking for new sponsors.

During the Fringe itself, the Fringe Information Desk is situated next to the Opera House in the front of the Pavilion Gardens Conservatory. It will be manned from 10am to 4pm between July 7-23 and during these dates there is a dedicated phone line for enquiries - 01298 214184. Outside these dates, the Fringe Secretary, Barbara Wilson, can be contacted on 01298 70562, or Send message to Info
