Bumper Drama Programme for Buxton Fringe

Buxton Festival Fringe (July 6-22) is renowned for its vast and varied Drama output .

For 17 days, the spa town of Buxton will play host to an incredibly diverse selection of stage entertainment featuring classics and brave new works alike. Watch out for:

  • Vibrant venues: New last year, Underground Venues expands with a full programme at The Old Hall Hotel plus further events at Buxton Infant School. Long established at The Old Clubhouse, Martin Beard's Nice One venue boasts an exciting programme for 2007.
  • New writing: from groups including Das Theatre, Corridor Theatre, Moving Talent and Gloves Off
  • Award-winning talent: Impetuous Kinship, Black Box Theatre Company, Young Rec Theatre Company and, new to the Fringe, Buxton Young Farmers' Club - winner of the Young Farmers' National Drama Finals 2007.
  • Bright young things: Buxton Community School's Imagine Theatre Company, Ibsen Theatre Company, Young Rec, Bath University and more...
  • Fab entertainment! Godspell from Young Rec; James Dean's stormy life revisited by Dorothy's Friends Productions; Macbeth comes to Poole's Cavern with 1623 Theatre Company; outrageous true story of a dominatrix madam from Hope Theatre Company...
  • There really is something for everyone from new contemporary drama to comedy and classic theatre including works by Ibsen, Kafka, Pinter, Lorca and of course Shakespeare.
