Fringe deadline approaches!

PRESS RELEASE 7th April 2022

Time is running out to be listed in the printed programme for this year’s Buxton Festival Fringe (July 6-24). With over 130 events already signed up, organisers are urging any other performers to enter online by the final deadline of Sunday April 17.

Almost all shows this year will be live events with theatre, music, comedy and spoken word all back with a bang. The traditional printed programme will be distributed in Buxton and beyond from the beginning of June and will be celebrated at a party at The Green Man Gallery, Buxton on Saturday June 4, 7-9pm - all welcome.

The Fringe is grateful to all its venues including the three managed venues, Underground, The Green Man Gallery and the Rotunda and inspiring locations such as Poole’s Cavern, the historic Pump Room and, out of town, Eyam Parish Church. For more information about available venues and how to take part, please visit www.buxtonfringe.org.uk. The website also includes full what’s on listings as does the free-to-download Buxton Fringe App.

In a return to a more normal festival, the Fringe is planning to offer its traditional free showcase of events, Fringe Sunday, outside at the Pavilion Gardens on July 10 as well as Fringe@5 performance opportunities around the Bandstand. It will also be parading with the town’s carnival and there are plans for floral orange hot spots to further brighten the town during July.

The Fringe is a charity run by volunteers. Please see the website for opportunities on how to get involved including helping out at the Fringe Information Desk, becoming a Fringe Friend or making a one-off donation.

Fringe chair Stephen Walker says: “Our festival is open to all so if you have a show and are looking for an opportunity to perform, why not enter the Fringe? “
