Food for thought - And More at Buxton Fringe

PRESS RELEASE for immediate release June 2nd 2022

Some of the most intriguing offerings at this year’s Fringe defy categorisation.

There are no less than three magic shows in the Fringe’s And More… section. The ever popular High Peak Magic Circle offers stunning table magic in the new setting of the Octagon in the Pavilion Gardens. Legendary magician the Great Baldini introduces us to the dark arts of the ILLUSIONATI - elite magicians controlling the world - in his Green Man Gallery show Dirty Tricks. Over at the Rotunda there is a chance to see amazing sleight of hand from Caspar Thomas back with an all-new show.

Buxton local Matthew Drapper reveals how he was coerced into dangerous anti-LGBT Conversion Therapy in Bringing Back to Me. By contrast, the life-enhancing Buxton Pride Picnic offers a summer feast in celebration of the town’s LGBTQ+ community. There could even be a Big Gay Bake Off!

The Fringe is always guaranteed to provide plenty of food for thought and at the Green Man, Darren Harper will be offering two talks on philosophy, Stoicism and the Art of Living.

Says Marketing officer Stephanie Billen: “The Fringe always throws up lots of surprises. The colourful and thought-provoking And More… category includes events that look set to enlighten and inspire audiences in a host of different ways.”

The Fringe wishes to thank High Peak Borough Council, its Fringe Friends and the town’s many Fringe supporters and venues.
