Meet the team at Buxton Fringe

PRESS RELEASE For immediate release – October 23 2021

Buxton Festival Fringe is looking forward to opening its doors again and meeting all its friends, supporters and entrants at its open-to-all AGM on Wednesday November 17.

The event which takes place at The Green Man Gallery on Hardwick Square South, Buxton at 7 for 7.30pm represents a chance to celebrate the success of Fringe 2021 which went ahead with 111 entries despite all the uncertainty surrounding Covid.

As ever, the important posts of Chair, Vice-chair, Treasurer and Secretary will be voted in as well as the committee itself, which is always looking for new members. The friendly AGM includes a chance to mingle with a glass of wine and take part in a Q&A with the team. It will be followed by an abbreviated committee meeting from 8 to 9.30pm with newcomers welcome to stay and see how the Fringe works before deciding whether they want to join the committee. Anyone interested in attending the AGM and/or the committee meeting should RSVP to Send message to Info

The Fringe celebrated its 40th year in 2019 with a bumper festival before having to reinvent itself as a largely online event in 2020. It was back with a bang in 2021 however with an exciting live programme of theatre, music, comedy and more. 2022’s dates have been announced as July 6-24 with the Fringe website open for entries from December 1 2021. See www.buxtonfringe.org.uk for full details.

Acting Fringe chair Stephen Walker comments: "After a long run of Zoom meetings, we've started meeting in person again, so it's much easier for newcomers to meet us and find out more about what we do. The AGM is the perfect opportunity to do so.”
