PRESS RELEASE 20th May 2026 - For immediate release
Buxton Fringe has released the exciting line-up of acts performing at its Programme Party on Saturday June 6th from 7 to 9pm downstairs at Buxton Working Men’s Club.
All are welcome at this free showcase to mark the publication of the Fringe printed programme. At 64 pages this year, it reflects the bumper nature of this year’s Fringe, the biggest ever with some 230 events in total.
An assortment of Fringe acts will be offering taster performances: comedian Dom Hutchins previewing his Underground show Good Godders, local guitarist and singer-songwriter Will Hawthorne and playful spoken word storyteller Skye Lilly.
There will also be diverse theatre treats courtesy of Stewart Taylor with his darkly comic take on virtual reality, Charles Lloyd sharing some showbiz nostalgia, Susie Halksworth, who will be taking the role of a frustrated yoga teacher, and writer Siobhán Healey together with Olivier Award-winning performer Nathan Dowling talking about Unleashed, a play unpacking shame and sensuality through the character of a dominatrix.
The evening will offer a chance to socialise, meet Fringe organisers, purchase some of the Fringe’s exciting new merchandise and/or to become a Fringe Friend. There will be a pay-bar on site.
Fringe Chair Ian Bowns says: “It’s exciting to be hosting this party in a different venue this year, the Buxton Working Men’s Club on Lightwood Road, which will also be a key venue in the Fringe itself when Underground takes up residence there. It is going to be a huge Fringe so this is a great opportunity to pick up a programme hot off the press and get a flavour of what’s on offer.”
Fringe-goers are also advised to download the free Buxton Fringe App, available from Google Play or Apple's App Store, and to visit www.buxtonfringe.org.uk, which offers What’s On listings and venue details (including accessibility) plus information on how to sign up as a volunteer, reviewer or Fringe Friend and/or make a donation.
